New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) solar electric rebates:
• Residential incentives: $2.50/W up to 4 kW, $1.50/W for next 4 kW, max system size of 8 kW
• Non-residential incentives: $2.50/W up to 40 kW, $1.50/W for next 40 kW, max system size of 80 kW
• Schools, non-for-profit organizations, and municipalities: $4.00/W up to a maximum of 25 kW
Federal Tax Credit Incentive
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) has extended and expanded the Investment Tax Credit (ITC) so that solar investors can recover up to 30% of eligible system costs. The Treasury Department has initiated a Federal energy grant that can, in some cases, be used in lieu of the investment tax credit.
